Retirement Planning

Retirement planning is not a science, it is an art, because everyone’s situation is different. There are also several different variables that we have to consider when trying to determine what retirement looks like for you. But together we can create a sound plan that takes into account all of these variables. Below is a quick look at our retirement planning process:

  1. First we will get to know everything about your current financial situation. This includes things like your income, debt, savings, pensions etc.

  2. Next we will learn what it is you would like to plan for in retirement. Whether it’s as simple as maintaining your current lifestyle, adding some long overdue travel or embarking on a philanthropic journey to help others.

  3. The next step will be for us to determine what your income and expenses could look like in retirement. Expenses is a dirty word; we like to use “financial commitments” because ideally these items are going to be a positive but we still have to plan for them. We will also have to agree on the several different variable assumptions we would have to plan for like rate of return, inflation, and cash reserves just to name a few.

  4. Finally, we will create and review your unique retirement plan and if necessary, make changes based on your input.

  5. We will then monitor your plan on an annual basis and adjust for any changes that may occur along the way.
